Psychologist
Psychologist in The Ohio State University, Office of Student Life, Counseling and Consultation Service, Columbus, Ohio.
Duties: provides individual, couple and group counseling to university clients and their family members with a specific focus on work with Chinese student population; maintains confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment; collects information about clients through interviews, observation, or tests; assesses clients for risk of suicide attempts; fills out and maintain client-related paperwork, including federal and state-mandated forms, client diagnostic records and progress notes; prepares and maintains all required treatment records and reports; counsels clients to assist in overcoming dependencies; performs crisis interventions with clients; develops and implements treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge; provides diagnostic assessment; provides psychotherapeutic services regarding problems relating to stress, developmental issues, career, academics, interpersonal concerns, and other mental health issues; consults with university personnel; must obtain Ohio Psychologist license within 18 months of hire. Requirements: Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) or Doctorate (PhD) in Psychology; eligibility for licensure as a Psychologist in the State of Ohio; one year psychology internship under a licensed Psychologist or equivalent in university counseling center, mental health agency, or related professional setting; one year of experience providing psychotherapy, diagnostic assessment, and outreach; one year of experience in clinical setting that included Chinese population; fluency in Mandarin Chinese; requires successful completion of background check. (Internship and experience can be gained concurrently and-or concurrently with education.)
