We currently have an exciting and immediate opportunity for a talented Project Manager, New Development to help with the growth of our Texas Water/Wastewater Utility Businesses. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the continued growth of SouthWest Water's successful footprint in Texas, where we are an established water and wastewater utility owner. This position is located in the cool city of Austin, Texas.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
As part of our energetic Engineering team, you will report to the VP of Engineering and will be responsible for all aspects of planning for new developments to be acquired or connecting to existing systems owned and operated by SouthWest Water Company. Core duties include determining the water and wastewater systems required and their respective costs, enforcing all design and construction standards for SWWC, ensuring proposed projects meet TCEQ requirements, and preparing the water and wastewater systems to be acquired for long-term success.

Essential Duties:
- Prepare and/or review cost estimates, design layouts, and specifications for proposed systems.
- Prepare various reports and information requests as necessary.
- Assist with the update and improvement of the Company's Standard Specifications and Drawings.
- Responsible for assuring that projects/developments meet company and industry standards.
- Responsible for due diligence research for proposed developments for all aspects of water and/or wastewater systems, operational needs, rate considerations, and customer satisfaction to ensure a positive return on investments.
- Responsible for assisting in planning capital and anticipated operational expenditure needs to acquire new or existing water wastewater systems.
- Responsible for preparing planning level hydraulic analysis and water or effluent flow calculations for new and future developments as required.
- Responsible for inspection of new construction and may serve as Resident Project Representative.
- Act as the key point of contact for all engineering needs for new development.
- May have other job-related duties assigned by management.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
General: Has the ability to perform water and wastewater industry routine engineering practices and supervise personnel as assigned. Must be detail and goal-oriented and able to independently plan and execute projects with minimal supervision. Often under deadline pressure, must be able to work effectively with several projects simultaneously. Must be able to prepare written reports, letters, and master plans.
Education: B. S. Degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering is preferred. Construction industry experience is desirable and registration as a Texas professional engineer is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 5 - 10 years in the water/wastewater industry or related field experience is preferred. Experience with land development projects, water, and wastewater planning, and project cost estimating is desired. Must be able to work with land developers, City Engineers, and Public Works Directors concerning capital improvement planning/projects. Experience performing water and wastewater industry routine engineering practices and supervising personnel as assigned.
Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software, Microsoft Project, CAD software, and/or other industry current and related software, database program, and hydraulic analysis software are required.
