Director, Equity in Education
PSESD seeks a visionary leader to serve as its Director for Equity in Education. The Director will provide leadership in support of closing the opportunity gap in the PSESD region by directing, planning and coordinating equitable and inclusive practices that support closing the opportunity gap in the PSESD region; providing leadership through the design, development and implementation of systems and professional development programs for districts and other educational partners.
A successful candidate will provide leadership and training in the development of action plans and the adoption of research-based strategies to address the needs of diverse student and staff populations. This position will also provide technical expertise to staff, volunteers, committee members and district personnel towards developing infrastructure, programs and activities through a deep knowledge of cultural proficiency and antiracist leadership practices.
PSESD is one of nine regional educational agencies serving school districts, charter schools and state-approved private schools in Washington. Educational Service Districts, created by the legislature, are an essential regional delivery system for early learning and K-12 services in the state. Minimum Qualifications:
- BA degree in job related area
- Experience in promoting systemic change with a racial equity focus, within or in partnership with school districts
- Experience providing professional learning on cultural proficiency and/or antiracism training
Preferred Qualifications: (Cover letter and/or resume should specifically address any experience meeting the preferred qualifications)
- Experience developing and implementing plans that include research-based practices to close opportunity gaps in education
- Experience with racially and/or culturally diverse populations
- Experience analyzing data to identify research-based practices
- Supervisory experience
Based in Renton, Washington.
Schedule: Full-time, year 'round.
Salary: $101,498-$117,707 per year. Salary offers consider candidate qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
