GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform a variety of complex bookkeeping and accounting tasks; preparing requisitions and invoices, preparing payroll, maintaining records and files, preparing reports. Supervision may be exercised over assigned personnel.
ESSENTIAL TASKS
(These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.)
*- Gather, assemble, tabulate, check and file budgetary and other financial data.
*- Post, check, balance and adjust routine financial accounts.
*- Check invoices, maintain financial and statistical records and compile reports.
*- Set up and maintain expenditure records on construction projects.
*- Keep management up-dated on the unencumbered balance on projects where
construction work is in progress.
*- Receive time sheets and prepare payroll for entire school system.
*- Process accounts payable.
*- Type purchase orders, requisitions and correspondence.
*- Operate computer terminal, posting data, payroll, payables and budgetary
information.
*- Maintain accounts, receipts, disburses and prepares financial statements for federal
fund accounts.
*- File various fiscal transaction documents.
*- Search documents for posting errors.
*- Collate, sort and compile fiscal data in accordance with procedures.
*- Operate typewriter, calculator and other standard office equipment incident to
maintaining records.
*- Keep routine cost and inventory records.
*- Perform related work as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Thorough knowledge of bookkeeping terminology, methods, procedures and equipment; thorough knowledge of standard office procedures, practices and equipment; general knowledge of accounting principles and related data processing equipment; ability to understand and follow oral and written directions; ability to establish and follow detailed work procedures; ability to post accounts and to perform mathematical computations with speed and accuracy; skill in using a variety of office machines and computer equipment and some typing ability; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma supplemented by courses in bookkeeping and extensive accounting orbookkeeping experience.
A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Some standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Possession of a valid driver's license.
